on the Induction Programme for the Third Semester B.Ed. Students (2025–2027
Batch)
The
Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Mar Baselios College of Education,
Sulthan Bathery, organized an Induction Programme for the Third Semester B.Ed.
(2025–2027 Batch) on 01 June 2026 at 9.30 a.m. in the College Auditorium. The
programme aimed to familiarize student teachers with the curriculum and
significance of the Yoga, Health and Physical Education course while promoting
the importance of physical fitness, mental well-being, and healthy lifestyle
practices.
The
session was led by Ms. Jishna, Assistant Professor in Physical Education, who
served as the Resource Person. She delivered an insightful and engaging
presentation on the theme "Nurturing Wellness Through Yoga, Health and
Physical Education." During her session, she emphasized the importance of
maintaining physical and mental health through regular exercise, yoga, balanced
nutrition, and positive lifestyle habits. She explained how these practices
contribute to stress management, emotional stability, and improved teaching
effectiveness. She also highlighted the role of yoga and physical education in
developing discipline, concentration, self-confidence, and holistic personality
development among future teachers.
The
programme commenced with a warm welcome to the resource person and
participants. Dr. Sunith Kumar G. N., Principal, served as the General Convenor
and encouraged the student teachers to actively participate in the session and
incorporate healthy practices into their daily lives. Ms. Freny Mariya Joseph,
Assistant Professor in General Education, coordinated the programme as the
Programme Convenor, ensuring the smooth conduct of the event. Ms. Alakananda
C., First Year Mathematics, efficiently performed her responsibilities as the
Student Convenor, coordinating student participation throughout the programme.
The
interactive session included discussions on the benefits of yoga, physical
fitness, stress management techniques, and the importance of maintaining
work-life balance as future educators. Students actively participated by
raising questions and sharing their views on health-related issues, making the
programme highly engaging and informative.
The
induction programme concluded with a vote of thanks expressing gratitude to the
resource person, the Principal, the organizing committee, faculty members, and
all the participants for making the programme a grand success. The session
successfully motivated the student teachers to recognize the importance of
wellness and physical education in their personal and professional lives and
inspired them to adopt healthy habits for lifelong well-being.

Education (EPC) course and to emphasize the importance of creativity,

The
programme featured Ms. Varshamol K. as the Resource Person. In her inspiring
session on the theme "Exploring Creativity Through Art and Drama in
Education," she explained how art and drama can transform classrooms into
engaging and learner-centred environments. She highlighted the role of creative
activities in enhancing communication skills, critical thinking, collaboration,
imagination, and emotional development among learners. The resource person also
demonstrated how various forms of art, storytelling, role play, dramatization,
music, and creative expression can be effectively integrated into classroom
teaching to make learning meaningful and enjoyable.

programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing sincere gratitude to the
resource person for her enriching and inspiring session. Appreciation was also

prospective teachers.

session was led by Dr. Jayakala M., Assistant Professor in Physical Science,
and Mr. Sanib K. A., Assistant Professor in General Education, who served as
the Resource Persons. They delivered an informative and interactive session on
the theme "Building Unity and Leadership through Community Living
Camp." The resource persons explained the objectives, structure, and
significance of the Community Living Camp as an integral part of teacher
education. They highlighted that the camp provides opportunities for student
teachers to develop leadership qualities, interpersonal skills, cooperation,
problem-solving abilities, and a sense of social commitment through
collaborative living and experiential learning.
During
the session, the resource persons discussed the importance of discipline,
mutual respect, effective communication, time management, and active
participation in various camp activities. They also emphasized the role of
community service, environmental awareness, cultural programmes, and group
tasks in fostering holistic personality development and preparing future
teachers to become responsible and socially conscious citizens.
