REPORT ON THE WEBINAR

MOOC On Swayam and NPTEL

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Mar Baselios College of Education, Sulthan Bathery,

affiliated to the University of Calicut, recognized by NCTE and accredited by NAAC, in collaboration

with the Association of InternationalResearchers of Indian Origin (AIRIO) and the Council for Teacher

Education Foundation (CTEF), Kerala Chapter, organized a webinar on “Awareness programme: MOOC

on Swayam and NPTEL.” The programme was held on 13 th October 2025 at 8.30 pm through the

virtual mode.

The gathering was warmly welcomed by Ms. Chithira P C, Assistant Professor in mathematics, who

introduced the theme of the webinar and emphasized the significance of education as a

transformative force in society.

The distinguished Resource Person,Dr. Sameer Babu M, Associate Professor,Department of

Educational Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia Central University New Delhi delivered an insightful session

about MOOC on Swayam and NPTEL . He highlighted the importance of MOOC ON Swayam and NPTEL

which is very relevant in today’s world of digital and online learning as these programme gives

teachers and students a great chance to learn from the best resources anywhere anytime. The

presentation was thought-provoking and encouraged participants to critically analyze the online

learning platforms.

The session also witnessed the esteemed presence and guidance of Dr. M.S Geetha, Chairman, CTEF

Kerala Chapter, and Prof. Dr. Rajeshwari K, President, AIRIOKerala Chapter, whose valuable insights

and support added significance to the programme.

The entire session was guided under the leadership of Dr. Sunithkumar G.N, General Convenor and

Principal, Mar Baselios College of Education, whose vision and encouragement contributed to the

success of the event.

The webinar concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Navya M Sebastian, Student

Convenor (First Year Physical science), who expressed gratitude to the resource person, dignitaries,

organizers, and participants for their active involvement and encouragement. All participants were

provided with e-certificates as a token of participation. The webinar was

was an enriching academic experience, enabling teacher trainees and participants to gain a deeper understanding of the

sociological perspectives of education and its profound role in society.

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Mar Baselios College of Education, Sulthan Bathery, organized a workshop on “Smart Teaching with ICT: Tools for Future Educators” on October 10, 2025, at 9:30 AM.

The session began with a prayer, followed by a welcome address by Ms. Chithira P.C., IQAC Co-ordinator, and Ms. Jayakala M, Vice Principal, who delivered the presidential address, stressing the relevance of technology integration in teaching.

The resource person, Dr. S. Sajan, Assistant Professor, NSS Training College, Ottapalam, and National Trainer in Techno-Pedagogy, led the workshop. He conducted an insightful and interactive session on the effective use of ICT in teaching. His presentation covered various educational applications, online tools, and digital strategies that make the teaching-learning process more engaging and learner-centered.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Drishya Dineshan, 1st Year B.Ed. Mathematics student. The workshop provided valuable insights into smart teaching and motivated future educators to adopt ICT-based teaching methods.
