NSS Seven Days Camp-Day-2 22/12/2024

  DAY -2-REPORT 

MAR BASELIOS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION  (NSS UNIT NO 265)ARAMAM 

The second day of the NSS camp began energetically with a Zumba session at 6:30 a.m., led by Minsha and Arathi. This refreshing start was followed by bed coffee provided by the food committee at 7:00 a.m. 
Assembly-After freshening up, the assembly commenced at 8:00 a.m., organized by the first group, Jasmine, with Arathi as the commander. Akhila Shaji shared an inspiring thought for the day, and Programme Officer Rajeesh Sir gave the volunteers general instructions for the day’s activities. Asha Miss and Leya Miss shared their experiences and extended their best wishes to the participants. Lakshminandha reminded everyone of the camp's instructions, and Arathi concluded the session by sharing the day’s program chart, ending with the national anthem.

After the assembly, the volunteers enjoyed a hearty breakfast. A special visit from the 2022–2024 batch of NSS volunteers added excitement to the day. They generously sponsored chicken for lunch, which was warmly appreciated. At 10:00 a.m., the school beautification program commenced. Each team was assigned a specific area within the school premises to clean, and the volunteers worked diligently, demonstrating teamwork and dedication to improving the school surroundings.

House Visit

Following lunch at 1:00 p.m., the volunteers engaged in a community outreach activity. They conducted home visits in groups to nearby localities, spreading awareness about communicable diseases and collecting essential commodities for the camp. The activity not only served the community but also strengthened the volunteers' sense of social responsibility. Mrs. Jeena, the Mother PTA President, visited the camp in the evening and inquired about its progress, expressing her support.

Cultural Programs

The day concluded on a lively note with cultural programs organized by the cultural committee at 7:00 p.m. All volunteers enthusiastically participated, showcasing their talents and fostering friendship. The evening ended with a reflection session led by the Programme Officer and group leaders, where the day’s activities were reviewed. 

Dinner was served at 9:00 p.m., and lights were turned off by 10:30 p.m., marking the end of a productive and fulfilling second day of the NSS camp.

'Aramam'- A Week of Service and Solidarity – NSS Seven Days Camp of MBCE at GHSSS, Anappara - Day-21/12/20247,2024






            NSS Seven Days Camp
The NSS unit (Unit No. 265) of Mar Baselios College of Education, Sulthan Bathery, commenced its seven-day camp on December 21, 2024, at GHSS, Anappara, with the theme “NSS Youth for Sustainable Development.”                      

DAY 1-REPORT

Camp Preparations

 The day began with the registration of volunteers at 10 a.m., followed by the camp preparations. The volunteers cleaned the allotted rooms and the surrounding areas to ensure a conducive environment for the camp.


Flag Hoisting Ceremony

The official inauguration of the camp started with a flag-hoisting ceremony conducted by the school principal, Mr. Manoj Kumar, and the NSS Program Coordinator, Mr. Rajeesh Kumar K.K.(Assistant professor in Commerce, Mar Baselios College of Education, Sulthan Bathery).

 Subsequently, an official inauguration meeting was held in the auditorium. Mr. Rajeesh Kumar K.K. welcomed the chief guests and volunteers. The meeting was presided over by Mrs. Bindu Ananthan, Panchayat President of Nenmeni. Ms. Sita Vijayan, Standing Committee Chairperson, District Panchayat  inaugurated the camp.


Mrs. Usha Velayudhan, Ward Member, delivered the main address. Felicitations were offered by several dignitaries, including Mr Manoj Kumar, Headmaster of GHSS Anappara; Mr. Ashraf Paikkadan, SMC Chairman; Mrs. Jeena Joseph, President of Mother PTA; Mr Noufal, PTA Vice President; and Dr Haridas K.U., Assistant Professor in Performing Arts, Mar Baselios College. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Miss Lakshmi Nanda Suresh, the student coordinator.



After a short tea break, the NSS Resident Volunteers conducted a Proclamation Rally to Chulliyode town, showcasing their commitment to the camp’s objectives.

REPORT ON BRAILLE AWARENESS CLASS

PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS:

The programme started with a warm welcoming speech of Mrs Geena koshy, Assistant Professor in General Education.

 Mr. Shareef, special educator at Rahmania school Kozhikode, handled the Braille awareness section. The class was very interactive and engaging. In a short period, he has covered every aspect of the topic. This section was very helpful to students because they are the upcoming teachers and want to interact with differently abled students in classrooms. 

Shareef sir conveyed the message that Equity and Empathy are the two important things that we need in our life. He displayed Braille devices, that helped students to know more about Braille. Differently, abled people are a vital part of our society, and their contributions should be recognised and valued.

 This was followed by the feedback session.Fr. Allen Thomas and Miss Hridya gave their valuable feedback on the session

 The programme concluded with a sincere  gratitude by the student convenor Mr. Sarang V.




Empowering movement: Exploring Biomechanics and Kinesiology in Action



The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Mar Baselios College of Education, Sulthan Bathery, in collaboration with the Ignite Sports Club, successfully organized a program titled "Biomechanical and Kinesiological Activities" on 18 December 2024. The event aimed to promote awareness and understanding of biomechanics and kinesiology in sports and physical education.

The program commenced at 3:30 PM at the Mar Baselios College premises with a formal welcome. The event featured activities and interactive sessions emphasizing the importance of biomechanics and kinesiology in enhancing physical performance and maintaining fitness.

Students from each department participated separately using the Google Fit App to monitor and calculate their steps and physical movements.This activity encouraged the integration of technology into fitness tracking and provided real-time insights into their physical performance.

The Biomechanical and Kinesiological Activities program proved to be an engaging and educational initiative. The inclusion of the Google Fit App added a modern, technological aspect to physical activity monitoring, enabling students to track and improve their movements scientifically. By conducting activities separately for each department, the event fostered teamwork, competitive spirit, and physical awareness among participants.

REPORT ON ORIENTATION CLASS “SEMINAR PAPER AND RESEARCH PAPER”

 Program Highlights:The program started by highlighting the main objective of the meeting, Ms Geena Koshy, Assistant Professor in General Education, delivered a warm welcome to all those who were present. 
The session was given by Mr. Sundarlal M.K, Principal, D.El.Ed., MBITE, Sulthan Bathery. With a power point presentation, he aims to enhance the academic and research skills of students. The session provided a comprehensive understanding of the significance, structure, and methodology involved in preparing seminar and research papers, which are crucial components of academic and professional growth. 
The class began with an introduction to the importance of seminar papers in academic discourse. He emphasized the importance of clarity, organization, and critical thinking in crafting a compelling seminar paper. He also provided practical tips on selecting appropriate topics, conducting literature reviews, and formulating a coherent argument. 

The second part of the session focused on research papers. He elaborated on the distinction between seminar and research papers, highlighting the depth and originality required in research writing. He explained the systematic approach to research, starting from identifying a research problem, formulating hypotheses, and conducting data collection and analysis to presenting findings in a well-structured format. 

Throughout the session, he engaged the participants through real-life examples and interactive discussions, making the session highly informative and practical. The orientation class not only clarified doubts but also motivated students to pursue academic writing with confidence and rigor. 

The orientation was highly effective in equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary for seminar and research paper writing. The insights provided will undoubtedly help students excel in their academic and research endeavours. The program was concluded by expressing a heartfelt gratitude by Mrs. Dilna Shaji.

Program Highlight

The program commenced with an anchoring by Meril Charles, setting the tone for the event.

Prayer song was rendered by Keerthana and Krishnendu. By highlighting the main objective of the meeting, Ms Geena Koshy, Assistant Professor in General Education, delivered a warm welcome to all those who were present. 

The Financial awareness session was given by Mr. Jerin C Joseph, Cluster Head, Wayanad, South Indian Bank. With a power point presentation ,he focussed on the major features  of educational loans available ,the need for financial discipline ,understanding term insurance, etc.He exhorted the students to be beware of the money laundering that's happening now a days.


The program was concluded by expressing a heart felt gratitude by Mrs. Bini Mary Mathew,Assistant Professor in General Education.   

A feedback was collected from the students based on that program.

A free training programme on  " idapedam sandhoshathode…(Let’s intervene with joy)”

Organized by Mar Baselios College on education in collaboration with IQAC.

 On Monday, December 16,2024,Mar Baselios College of Education in collaboration with IQAC hosted an enlightening programme titled “idapedam sandhoshathode”.The training initiative is conducted with the municipality’s Happy Bathery project. This program aims to enhance interpersonal skills and create a positive impact in public interactions.

The program began at 2:00 p.m. and continued until 3:30 p.m. It began with a warm welcome address by Mrs. Seema S R, Assistant professor of General Education, who highlighted the significance of addressing challenges with a spirit of inquiry and exploration. She also expressed her gratitude to the speaker for sharing his valuable time.

Mr. Rajan Thomas, the guest speaker, Principal of SMIAS College and president of YMCA, S. Bathery, delivered an engaging and thought-provoking lecture focusing on Courteous behavior, Effective communication, Approachable demeanor with a smile, Proper use of language, and Personality development. He emphasized the importance of developing a positive-mind set when facing challenges. Using relatable examples and interactive discussions, he captured the audience’s attention and inspired them to think beyond conventional boundaries.








The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Chandana K R, student convenor. Overall, the program was highly appreciated for its relevance and the speaker’s impactful presentation. It served as a platform for fostering a culture of inquiry and reflection, leaving the participants inspired and motivated.
