DRAMA AND ART IN EDUCATION WORKSHOP
A one-day Art and Drama Workshop was successfully conducted on 20th June 2025 at Mar Baselios College of Education. The session was led by Ms. Saranya S, artist and educator, who engaged the participants through a variety of creative and interactive activities.
The workshop began with an introductory session on the role of art and drama in education, highlighting how they can enhance creativity, communication skills, and emotional expression among learners. This was followed by a series of hands-on activities including:
Painting exercises focused on expressive art and color exploration
Fun and collaborative games to build trust, spontaneity, and imagination
Comic strip creation, encouraging storytelling, visual literacy, and humour
The participants, comprising student-teachers, actively took part in all the sessions and shared positive feedback about the learning experience. The workshop fostered a joyful and inclusive environment, offering tools and ideas that can be integrated into classroom teaching.

International Yoga Day Celebration Report

Mar Baselios College of Education, Sulthan Bathery
The Ignite Sports Club of Mar Baselios College of Education, Sulthan Bathery, organized a vibrant celebration of International Yoga Day on 20th June 2025, in anticipation of the official day observed on June 21st every year. The event commenced at 9:30 a.m. with a warm welcome and a brief introduction to the significance of yoga by Ms. Denisha Simon, Assistant Professor in Physical Education.
Dr. Sunith Kumar G. N., Principal of the college, addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of yoga in promoting holistic health.
A yoga demonstration session was conducted by the first-year student coordinators—Ashwin Sidharth, Gourisree Dileep, and Soniya P. J.—during which students and faculty actively participated in performing various asanas with music. The session focused on improving flexibility, reducing stress, and encouraging a healthy lifestyle.
A short speech highlighting the theme of this year’s Yoga Day, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” was delivered by General Captain Muhammed Ashif. The event concluded with a vote of thanks. The celebration successfully inspired participants to incorporate yoga into their daily routines for overall
well-being.
